ADHD Counseling

Are you struggling with motivation to start or complete tasks, time management, or planning and organization? Do you feel like you can’t reach your full potential, or the success you’ve achieved has felt impossible to attain? Are you having trouble in your relationships because you can’t focus in conversations or remember to do your share of responsibilities?

Attention- Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopment disorder that can impact daily functioning in adult’s home, work, and social life. Once thought to only be a disorder in children, has been seen to remain persistent in adulthood for many affected. It’s said to be a performance disorder - you may feel like you simply cannot perform the things that you know how to do. Not to be confused with laziness, people diagnosed with ADHD are trying very hard to manage their life, often with great frustration and little success. ADHD can also exacerbate the common struggles that we experience when navigating life transitions, such as in our quarterlife years.

My approach when working with ADHD is to assist clients in enhancing their self-awareness, developing executive function skills, and improving their overall quality of life. We can also process the effects that years of societal bias or trying to fit in a “neurotypical box” can cause. I can also help provide resources for the correct channels for formal diagnosis/medication management.

Whether you suspect you meet a diagnosis, were recently diagnosed, or have had a diagnosis since childhood and you’re looking for support, reach out!
